Extracurricular Activities During Distance Learning

We continue to work toward a safe reopening of some on campus activities beginning next week, including athletic workouts, performing arts groups, clubs, and other co-curricular activities.  We are working  with teachers, coaches, and advisors to ensure that each group wishing to return to campus for voluntary after school activities is able to do so in a safe manner.  All approved activities will take place in small, stable cohorts of students at scheduled times, starting at 3:00pm daily.  There will be no “drop-in” opportunities at this time.   All students and parents will need to read the CUSD Health and Safety Agreement and affirm that they have reviewed this information on our CHS acknowledgement form prior to the student’s return to campus.

We expect that some groups will start to meet on Monday the 12th, others may take a little additional time to get up and running, and still others may continue to meet virtually.  Coaches, teachers, and club advisors/leadership will be in contact with students regarding their group’s plans.  However, we also recognize that while some students may already have activities to which they are connected (and will be hearing details from those specific groups), other students may be looking for opportunities and need to learn more.  For those students, the following contacts and resources may be helpful:

Athletics  - Offseason athletic activities are conducted under the guidance of the specific booster clubs for each sport, in accordance with CIF regulations.  Additionally, not all groups may choose to conduct offseason conditioning.  For athletics related questions, please contact Athletic Director Sam Eshelman at

Clubs - For a current list of clubs at CHS, please see the Club List on the ASB Lancer Nation website.   Are you a student interested in starting a club?  More information can be found on the club forms page.

Performing Arts - Please contact your teacher/coach for more information, or for general questions contact Ms. Stapleton at

Additional opportunities, including academic support and intervention and other course-related activities, are being planned, with more information to come as it is available.
