The Semper Fidelis All-American Program is a new honorary high school program that recognizes high school juniors from across the country who excel academically, athletically and within their communities. Selected students will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C. to attend the Battles Won Academy with a mentor of their choice.

The program provides the exclusive opportunity for these like-minded student athletes to win a scholarship, tour the nation’s capital, hear from industry professionals, visit the Marine Corps base in Quantico and network with one another. In addition, being honored as a Semper Fidelis All-American is a great resume builder and will get acknowledged amongst colleges.

Carlsbad Student Leader Academy

Is leadership a trait that is inherent, evident since birth? Or is it a process that’s cultivated and developed? Perhaps it’s a bit of both. Regardless, our future depends on developing emerging student leaders into the right kinds of people- with the character, mindset, and tools to influence our community towards more collective good.

The City of Carlsbad Housing and Neighborhood Services, in partnership with the Carlsbad Unified School District, the Servant Leadership Institute, and programming powered by the YouSchool are offering a new experiential, challenge-based leadership academy with proven methodology to catalyze High School aged students who are residents in Carlsbad to reach their fullest potential as emerging leaders.

For students who are considering the path their future might take, are you clear about the great story your life could tell? You only get one life, so make it count.

Please see attached flyer and visit the website for more details:

Dear Parents and Athletes:

Our spring sports are almost here and here are a few reminders for you!

1.  Please make sure you have registered online (www.carlsbadathletics.com, click clearance, for step by step instructions).

2.  Please make sure you upload your physical into your clearance account, and email me a copy of it.  Physicals last for 1 year.

3.  You will receive 2 emails, one explaining you registered, and one that tells you when you are cleared.  We do not use clearance slips, the coaches will get a clearance list on the date of the tryouts.

4.  The deadline to register for Spring Sports is February 2nd, which is Wednesday of this week.  If you do not register by this date, your athlete's tryouts may be delayed.

5.  The MANDATORY parent meeting for spring sport parents is Feb. 6th, 5 p.m. in Lancer Arena (only takes about 20 minutes).  If you attended fall or winter, then you do not need to attend.  Your athlete will not be able to tryout without your attendance.

Please go to carlsbadathletics.com, for tryout information for all spring sports.  You can also email the coaches directly from the same site, if you click on staff.  Please email at awaters@carlsbadusd.net for any other information you may need.

Sincerely,
