All CHS students are welcome at The Armory, a free after-school program offering:

  • Academic assistance (tutoring, homework help, test prep)
  • Community service opportunities
  • Career exploration
  • Mentorship (guidance) and leadership skills development
  • College prep
  • A positive social atmosphere and lasting relationships
  • An after-school snack

Location: CHS Library

Hours: After school–6 p.m., Monday thru Friday

Members can become eligible for college scholarships and compete in a scholarship contest!

 All students are welcome to join The Armory, a new club that meets Monday through Thursday after school until 6 PM. The program includes:


Intramural Sports (Mondays):  Come play softball, ultimate Frisbee, dodge ball, tennis and other sports.  


Tutoring (Tuesdays/Thursdays): Volunteers from Cal State San Marcos, Palomar, and Mira Costa Colleges will be here to help you in all academic subjects.


Community Service (Wednesdays):  Start earning your community service hours both on campus and off.  Field trips will include clean ups at local beaches and lagoons.  


Students who participate are eligible for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad's "Youth of the Year" competition.  The winner receives a $10,000 college scholarship.
