Off-Campus Passes

Any student leaving campus during school hours must obtain an Off-Campus Pass from the Attendance Office before leaving.  If a student leaves without a pass, detention will be issued.  Before a student returns to class, the Off-Campus Pass must be returned to the Attendace Office for verification and permission to return to class.

1) Parent/Guardian calls Attendance Office in the morning or evening prior at 331-5170 with the following information; a) name of student (spell last name), b) time student is to leave, c) time student will return, d) reason for absence.

2) Student must obtain the Off-Campus Pass prior to leaving.  Passes may be picked up before school, between classes, or at lunch.

Carlsbad High School Tardy Policy

STUDENT TEACHER ADMINISTRATION CONSEQUENCES RECOVERY
1st - 4th class tardies Discuss with students our requirement of them to be on time to each class, each day. Notify student that a notice will be sent home on the 5th total tardy, and that a referral + Saturday School will be issued at the 10th total tardy
5th class tardy Referral to Assistant Principal = Parent Contact – Aeries letter of warning sent home. Saturday School will be issued at 10th total tardy/ Lunch Detention
Level 1 = 10 total tardies = AERIES tardy letter at 10 total tardies. Student conference with A.P. 1 wk Lunch Detention + 1 Saturday School.
Level 2 = 15 total tardies = AERIES letter at 15 tardies. Violation of Ed. Code 48263 “irregular attendance or habitually insubordinate.” School Attendance Review Team (SART) conference with student, parent, teacher, counselor, and A.P. Contract including verbal & written warning of loss of privileges. 1 wk Lunch Detention + 1 Saturday School.
Level 3 = 20 total tardies Violation of Ed. Code 48900 (k) – defiance: School Attendance Review Board (SARB) referral (District/Court referral). Conference informing student of loss of privilege & how to recover. Loss of privileges for 4-weeks: 1) No off-campus lunch 2) No student parking pass 3) No field trips 4) No dances 5) No ASB events 6) No participation in extra-curricular activities (athletics, performing arts, club activities, etc.) 7) Mandatory after school Tutoring 2x per week No tardies, - 2 mandatory after school tutoring sessions each week, No referrals of any kind, Students who recover revert to Level 2, 1 additional tardy = Level 3 for remainder of semester, - Start of second semester, all students start at 0 tardies, Students who do not complete above requirements remain on Level 3.
