The California Highway Patrol's Start Smart program is a free driver safety education class which targets new and future licensed teenage drivers between the age of 15 - 19 and their parents/guardians. Carlsbad High School is teaming up with the CHP and Carlsbad Police to require all students that would like to have a parking permit for the 2012-2013 school year to attend this program.
